Spring Quarter Information Line

The University has setup an information line to address most questions related to COVID-19.

The number is 877-744-4800 (or 773-795-5374) for all inquiries related to coronavirus or Spring Quarter planning. The phone operators are equipped to answer most questions related to coronavirus efforts on campus.  If they don’t know the answer, the operator will direct the caller to the appropriate campus office.

Students seeking medical advice or counseling care should still be directed to call Student Health Service or Student Counseling Service directly.

CSL Department Updates

Athletics & Recreation

  • Ratner Athletics Center and Henry Crown Field House will be closed, and FitChicago classes will be cancelled, through April 5. Re-opening or extending the closure after April 5 will be communicated at the end of March. If Ratner is re-opened in the Spring Quarter, Summer Interim Hours will be used, and Henry Crown will remain closed. Read more here.

Center for Leadership and Involvement

  • All RSO activity will be suspended through the end of Spring Quarter. The Center for Leadership and Inovlvement staff is working remotely. Students can contact their RSO advisor directly for assistance, or they can email CLI-Help@uchicago.edu. Read more here.

Housing & Residence Life

  • Housing & Residence Life will cease normal operations effective March 22.
  • Spring Quarter Housing is available to students who cannot travel home due to coronavirus-related travel restrictions.

International House

Office of International Affairs

  • The Office of International Affairs is open virtually. The office has also posted an FAQ to assist students with immigration-related questions.

Office of the University Bursar

  • The Office of the University Bursar is offering phone-in or email advising for students.
  • The Bursar created an FAQ for students with questions related to Spring Quarter.

Rockefeller and Bond Chapels and Spiritual Life

  • All communal religious and spiritual gatherings occurring in Rockefeller and Bond Chapels and the Spiritual Life office, prayer, and meditation spaces are suspended until further notice. Students seeking spiritual support should contact a member of the staff or visit spirit.uchicago.edu for information on virtual programming.

Student Centers

  • Ida Noyes Hall will be closed until April 15.
  • The Reynolds Club will be closed March 21–March 22 in observance of Spring Break. It will be open March 23–March 27 from 10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. and will then be closed until April 15.
  • Additional updates will be posted to the Student Centers website.

Student Disability Services

  • Student Disability Services staff is available to assist students remotely and is working to develop new resources with several campus partners to implement accommodations for the remote Spring Quarter. Read more here.

Student Health and Counseling Services

  • Student Health and Counseling Services will remain in operation during this period of remote learning and social distancing, although it is preparing to move some care to telephonic or virtual/online methods, effective immediately.

UChicago Dining

  • UChicago Dining will cease dine-in service for all on-campus dining halls and cafes through March 30.
  • During Spring Quarter, undergraduate students who are staying on campus can use the Baker Dining Commons dining hall.
  • The Maroon Market will be open Monday–Friday, 10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

  • Dean-on-Call and Sexual Assault Dean-on-Call continue to be resources for students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 773-834-HELP (4357).
  • Students who experience a bias incident can continue to seek assistance from the Bias Education & Support Team (BEST).

  • The University Registrar is operating remotely. Certain in-person services may still be available by appointment.
