Join the brothers of Alpha Epsilon Pi for the annual Latke-Hamantash Debate at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, in Mandell Hall. This annual campus tradition pits faculty members against each other debating within their respective disciplines on the merits of latkes and hamantashen, the traditional Jewish foods eaten during the Jewish holidays of Hanukkah and Purim respectively.
This year Ted Cohen will moderate the debate between Dr. Rachel Fulton Brown (Medieval History), Dr. Harold Pollack (SSA), and Dr. Carrie Rinker-Schaeffer (Cancer Biology) as they attempt to resolve this question once and for all. Attendance typically soars above 1,000 so come early for good seats!
As usual, there will be a post-debate reception in Hutchinson Commons where you can taste latkes and hamantashen and decide for yourself! ($5)
Please contact Alpha Epsilon Pi at http://aepi.uchicago.edu for more information.
The debate is sponsored by Alpha Epsilon Pi and supported by the Spiritual Life Office at Rockefeller Chapel and Campus and Student Life, along with Jewish community organizations on campus.
