“ENGAGE: What is our civic responsibility?” event Feb. 9; RSVP by noon Feb. 8

February 6, 2013

All University of Chicago students are invited to reflect on and discuss critical issues in our shared civic life, such as inequities and disparities in healthcare, education, housing, employment and more during "ENGAGE: What Is Our Civic Responsibility?", an event taking place from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, at 5710 Woodlawn (OMSA). Hear the many voices that make up our campus community and express your perspectives regarding social change.

This event is open to all undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students. Discussions will be planned and facilitated by eight UChicago students (6 second-years and 2 third-years), who have received extensive training by the nationally recognized Center on Civic Reflection to lead such discussions in a safe and respectful manner and to engage diverse groups.

Food and refreshments will be served from 3-4 p.m. Those planning to attend need to RSVP by NOON on Friday, February 8. When submitting your RSVP, please note your affiliation (undergraduate, graduate student, professional school student) so we can ensure that there will be mixed discussion groups.

This event is co-sponsored by the University Community Service Center (UCSC) and Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA).
