Maroons Celebrate a Week of Historic Wins

April 28, 2026

The Maroons notched a series of historic wins over the last week, building on the University of Chicago Athletics’ impressive year.

UChicago Maroons baseball was crowned UAA Champion after sweeping the NYU Violets, securing the program’s first conference title since 1913. The men's track and field team racked up unprecedented wins as well, capturing its first UAA Outdoor Championship in program history; tallying six individual titles and 15 total podium finishes. The six individual UAA titles for UChicago are also the most ever recorded in a single outdoor championship meet.

Maroons' tennis also brought home titles. The fourth-ranked women's tennis team defeated #2 Washington University to win its fifth consecutive UAA championship, while the top-ranked men's tennis team rolled past #6 Case Western Reserve, 4–1, to claim the fourth UAA title in program history.

Meanwhile, the women's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day with a 24-10 win over Hope College, solidifying their dominance early on with 14 goals scored in the first half alone, and the Maroons softball team earned a doubleheader sweep, stretching their winning streak to five with 6-2 and 9-6 wins over Carthage.
