Vice President of Campus Life and Student Services: Statement on Online Postings

March 1, 2015

This last week, the University became aware of threatening and hateful anti-Semitic speech aimed at members of our community, posted on external social media sites.   As we have stated before, acts of hate and threats of violence - anonymous or not - run counter to the values of this University. Postings that target members of our community based on their religion, class, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality, disability and other aspects of identity are particularly hurtful and egregious.

The University makes a number of resources available to students to support a campus environment free of harassment and discrimination. This includes the Dean-on-Call program, the student disciplinary process and related policies, the Bias Response Team, Student Counseling Services, and the area deans of students. Should you feel unsafe, or witness threatening behavior, please contact UCPD by dialing 123 from a campus phone or 773.702.8181.
