The University provides students with the opportunity to work directly with faculty and staff, better understand University governance, and provide student input on important matters affecting the University.

Faculty Board for Campus and Student Life – Student Representative

The Faculty Board for Campus and Student Life is a statutory board that advises and makes recommendations to Campus and Student Life and the Provost’s Office on matters affecting campus and student life at the University. Two students (representing the College and graduate divisions/ professional schools) serve a term of one academic year.

Independent Review Committee for the University of Chicago Police Department

The Independent Review Committee (IRC) reviews citizen complaints of abusive language, violation of rights, excessive force, and dereliction of duty brought against the UCPD. Three students (representing the College, graduate divisions, and professional schools) serve a term of one academic year.

University-wide Student Disciplinary Committee

The University-wide Student Disciplinary Committee is a standing committee appointed by the Office of the Provost and includes faculty, students, and staff specifically educated to resolve formal complaints under the Policy on Harassment, Discrimination, and Sexual Misconduct. Students (representing the College, graduate divisions, and professional schools) serve a term of one academic year.
