Deans of Students

Students receive support from their Area Deans of Students, who are touch points for a number of academic and related needs. On a daily basis, a Dean of Students may review students’ academic progress, counsel students with financial difficulties, work with the financial aid and bursar’s offices on a student’s behalf, and partner with Student Disability Services, Housing & Residence Life, and UChicago Student Wellness on supporting student needs.

University Registrar

The Office of the University Registrar helps students by providing services that assist them in their time on campus and in their transition after their academic program is complete.

Student Disability Services

Student Disability Services (SDS) works to support students with a wide range of physical, learning, and psychological disabilities. SDS staff engages with students in an interactive process to identify necessary services and implement accommodations to ensure equitable access to University programs and services.

Student Ombuds Office

The Student Ombuds Office is a resource for all students to assist in the resolution of conflicts, concerns, and other problems that they may encounter through the course of University life.

College Advisers

Every undergraduate student is assigned a full-time, professional College Adviser with whom they meet throughout their four years on campus. While the primary responsibility of advisers is to help students design an appropriate program of study, advisers also support students in postgraduate planning and assist in the resolution of personal, financial, or academic programs. There is also an Adviser-on-Call for urgent academic issues, who can be reached at 773.702.8615.
