As Assistant Vice President, Richard Mason is responsible for leading the development of undergraduate residential communities at UChicago and managing major auxiliary services related to campus life, including UChicago Dining and the UChicago Bookstore. He works directly with colleagues from across the University to execute a master undergraduate housing strategy that advances the University's goals and objectives. As AVP/Associate Dean, Richard serves as a senior staff member in both the College and on the Campus and Student Life leadership teams, collaborating on projects and initiatives both within and outside of the College and Campus & Student Life.
Richard has over 20 years of working experience at the University of Chicago. Prior to his current role he served as an Assistant Director of Student Housing, Director of Operations and Communications in Housing & Dining Services, and Executive Director of UChicago Dining. Richard holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Oklahoma. He received an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management.
