We are closely monitoring Hurricane Sandy, a powerful storm that has already caused destruction in the Caribbean and is expected to hit the East Coast later today and tomorrow. We are aware that you might have loved ones in the area and wanted to reach out to offer you our support. Campus and Student Life offices can provide resources and services for those who have been affected or have loved ones affected by this storm.
U. of C. moves up to 4th in U.S. News college rankings

U.S. News & World Report released its annual rankings of the nation's top colleges and the University of Chicago tied with Columbia University as the fourth best national university, moving up from the fifth spot last year. Read the Chicago Tribune article about the rankings.

In the past few weeks, the University has received two separate reports of incidents in our student community that invoked offensive stereotypes of members of particular racial, ethnic and gender groups.
