With Election Day approaching on November 8, I am writing to provide you with information about voter registration, in accordance with the federal Higher Education Act.

Congressional midterm elections, statewide elections, and Chicago’s municipal elections will all be held during this academic year. We encourage all eligible students to exercise their right to participate in the U.S.’s democratic process by voting.

University of Chicago students can vote in Illinois or in their home state. UChicago partners with TurboVote, a non-partisan platform which assists students registering to vote, requesting absentee ballots, and voting by mail. Visit uchicago.turbovote.org for more information.

UChicago will also host an early voting location inside Reynolds Club, November 2-4. Chicago voters can register same day and vote regardless of their precinct or ward.

Additional information to register in Cook County, Illinois is available on the Cook County Clerk’s Office website.

All students are encouraged to learn more about voting and get involved. For questions about registering to vote, please contact UChicago’s nonpartisan voter engagement student group UChiVotes at uchivotes@gmail.com or visit UChiVotes.com.
