Bernardo joins the Maroons after serving as Volunteer Assistant Diving Coach at the University of Illinois-Chicago in 2013-14 and Northwestern University in 2011-12. "We're very excited to be adding a diving coach with Abbey's experience and knowledge to our staff," Weber said. "With her expansive Division I and club level experience as a diver and coach, I know she'll be able to continue the recent success of our diving team and help them take the next step in becoming the best program in all of Division III."

Bernardo was a varsity diver and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection for the University of Illinois from 2005-08. She earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology at Illinois and her master's degree in sports administration at Northwestern.
