Over the past few months, the University has rolled out a number of tools, programs, and resources to help keep each of us safe both on and off campus.
As we return to campus, and at a time when issues of public safety are at the forefront, we are launching a new public safety information campaign, Always Think Safety. The campaign features simple tips for every member of our community for staying safe around campus, when using transportation, while at home and at work, and when you are navigating around the city. These safety reminders are useful for anyone who is new to big city life as well as those who have lived in Chicago for years.
While many of us may be familiar with these tips, it’s easy to let even the most basic precautions slip out of practice. That’s where Always Think Safety comes in to help keep these safety measures top of mind on a day-to-day basis.
In addition to following these safety tips, we recommend downloading the UChicago Safe Mobile App. It provides quick access to multiple safety resources available to you.
When you see campaign posters around campus and on social media, please take a moment to consider the safety tips and how you can make them a part of your everyday life. We wish you safe and productive Winter and Spring quarters.
