In a press release issued on Saturday, January 13, 2018, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) stated it will resume accepting and processing certain applications for deferred action under DACA. This change was made in response to a preliminary injunction issued in federal court last week.
In brief, if you were previously granted deferred action under DACA with an expiration on or after September 5, 2016, you may request a renewal. If you had been granted deferred action under DACA, but it expired before September 5, 2016, you cannot renew, but can instead file a new request.
