Dean of Students in the University: Message of Support for Students Affected by Hurricane Harvey

August 28, 2017

To: Students from Texas and Louisiana
From: Michele Rasmussen, Dean of Students in the University
Date: August 28, 2017
Subject: Hurricane/Tropical Storm Harvey

The devastating impact of Hurricane Harvey and the continued threat it poses to the people of south Texas and now Louisiana is difficult to comprehend. Thousands of people in the affected areas have been forced to deal with damage and destruction of their homes and businesses, mandatory evacuations, record-breaking flooding, loss of power and a desperate need for safety and shelter. At this incredibly difficult and uncertain time, I hope that our students from Texas and Louisiana, their friends and their loved ones are safe and accounted for. Please know that we are thinking of you and hoping that you are okay. For those of you with ties to Corpus Christi, Rockport, Victoria, Dickinson, Houston and the other cities and towns that have been hit particularly hard by Harvey, please contact Campus and Student Life if there is any way we can possibly offer assistance or support. You may reach us by clicking here or by phoning the Dean-on-Call (who is available 24 hours a day, every day) at 773-834-HELP (4357).
