Dr. Michelle Alexander to give the 2013 George E. Kent Lecture on February 21

Dr. Michelle Alexander, highly acclaimed civil rights lawyer, advocate, legal scholar, and author of "The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness", will give the 2013 George E. Kent lecture from 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, in Mandell Hall. This is the 30th annual lecture held in honor of the late Dr. George E. Kent, one of the earliest tenured African American professors at the University of Chicago. 

A book signing and reception with the Organization of Black Students and the Black Law Students Association will take place from 4-5:30 p.m. A Q&A will take place following the lecture from 6:30-7 p.m.
