“Hearing One Another” Pilot Program

August 15, 2017

The Center for Identity + Inclusion is looking for 36 current students to help pilot a workshop called “Hearing One Another.”

When: Monday, August 21 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at 5710 S. Woodlawn Ave.

Please sign up here.

The workshop will be offered during Orientation to all incoming College AND Graduate/Professional students. "Hearing One Another," developed by the Harry L. Davis Center for Leadership at Booth in partnership with The Second City and offered by the Office of the Provost, uses interactive activities to introduce students to the skilled practice of communicating across difference and understanding one another. The workshop focuses on recognizing the richness of each University community member's identity and experiences, and on developing listening and conversation habits that can promote more meaningful interactions and a stronger sense of belonging.

Students will have the opportunity to work with a small team and help launch this new workshop, with the goal of promoting a stronger sense of belonging on campus. Refreshments will be provided.  To learn more, please visit http://inclusion.uchicago.edu/hearing-one-another.
