Hyde Park Holiday Nights will take place December 3, 10, and 17.
The festivities will kick off with holiday caroling on Thursday, December 3, from 6–9 p.m., with four caroling groups strolling down 53rd Street - Hyde Park and at The Courtyard Shops - Hyde Park Shopping Center. The groups include costumed Victorian carolers, the South Shore Opera Company of Chicago, and two UChicago a cappella groups—“Men in Drag” and “Run for Cover.”
There will be two ice-carving demonstrations on Thursday, December 10—one at Harper Court from 4–6 p.m. and another at The Courtyard Shops - Hyde Park Shopping Center from 7–9 p.m.
On Thursday, December 17, from 5–7 p.m., kids will have a chance to meet their favorite characters from Frozen. The characters will be stationed at different Hyde Park shops, with exact times and locations on the event website.
Shops will be open late with two hours of free parking at the Harper Court Parking Garage (entrance on Lake Park Avenue). The new Harper Court location of Einstein Bros. Bagels will provide free hot chocolate and sweets while supplies last each week at the “Hot Chocolate Welcome Station.”
