International Houses Worldwide Receive 2019 PIEoneer Award

September 20, 2019

Launched in 2017, the PIEoneer Awards are the only global awards that celebrate innovation and achievement across the whole of the international education industry. The PIE is an independent media, recruitment and events company connecting a global community of professionals working in international education. This is a highly recognized award, especially in Europe.

With a distinguished judging panel representing geographical and professional diversity, the PIEoneer Awards recognize both individuals and organizations who are pushing professional standards, evolving their engagement or redefining the international student experience.

The winners were announced at the awards ceremony held in London last evening on September 19. The directors from the two International Houses in London represented IHWW. Other recipients of the Championing Diversity Award included:

CISabroad, USA - #IamIcan Campaign and Diversity Scholarships Revamp

De Montfort University, UK - Global LGBTQ+Allies Scholarship

Fund for Education Abroad, USA - Access Partner Program

NOKUT - Norwegian ENIC-NARIC, Norway - Toolkit for Recognition of Refugees’ Qualifications

University of Birmingham, UK - Increasing WP mobility

International Houses Worldwide received this award for their scholarship and fellowship programs. Today, the members of IHWW accommodate some 9,500 students and scholars annually from more than 125 countries. There are nearly 350,000 individuals who are able to claim alumni status at one or more of their organizational members and many of them give back to the movement through their annual financial and other voluntary contributions. This support results in more than 800 scholarships offered annually, which serve to promote the diversity of member houses.
