As was announced in the September 21 Autumn Safety Update, the Department of Safety & Security is offering the Lyft Ride Smart at UChicago program beginning September 29 to provide students with alternative transportation options during evening and late-night hours. This program is available to all currently enrolled UChicago students.

Through the program, students can take up to 10 free standard Lyft rides per month from 9 p.m.-4 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The rides must begin and end within the UGo NightRide Shuttle Service area.

All students will receive an email from Lyft Business on September 29 that includes sign-up instructions and a unique link to opt into the program. If you do not opt in to the program, you will not receive further communications from Lyft.

Students with questions about Lyft Ride Smart at UChicago, or any of the University’s transportation programs, can email bus@uchicago.edu. For helpful safety tips on using ride share services, please visit the University’s webpage on Safe Transportation.
