Subject: Memorial Service for Shaoxiong “Dennis” Zheng on Nov. 18
Date: November 16, 2021
The University will hold a memorial service on Thursday, November 18 at 3:00 pm CT for Shaoxiong “Dennis” Zheng, a recent University graduate who was killed on November 9. The service will take place at Rockefeller Memorial Chapel and may be attended in person or remotely through a live broadcast on the UChicago News website.
To maintain COVID-19 safety requirements, we ask that all attendees who join in person adhere to the University’s health protocols.
Our campus community is devastated by the tragic loss of Dennis. A native of Sichuan Province, China, he came to the University of Chicago after completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Hong Kong. He was a recent graduate of the master’s program in statistics at the University this past June. Dennis will be remembered as a loving son, aspiring scholar, and a caring friend to many in our campus community and around the world.
To his family, friends, and other loved ones, we extend our condolences and deepest sympathies during this time of mourning.
