With the Saturday Night Meal Swipe pilot program, students on the Unlimited, Phoenix, and Apartment Meal Plans, including all Resident Staff can redeem swipes at Hutchinson Commons from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m each Saturday in May. This program was created to increase students’ food options on Saturday nights and was developed based on feedback from various groups on campus.
These swipes will be automatically added to students’ meal plans at no additional cost. Nothing will be subtracted from students’ meals or their current number of meal exchanges when they are used. The swipes can be used on Saturdays at all stations in Hutchinson Commons, including Saffron and Noodles; offerings will include a combo meal as well as a featured dessert option. Students may only use one swipe per Saturday, and they do not roll over from one week to the next if they are not used.
Feedback on the pilot will be collected on Saturday nights as well as through a survey at the end of the pilot. If this pilot is successful, UChicago Dining would look to permanently implement this program in the fall.
