As part of the University of Chicago's commitment to diversity and inclusion, the Common Book Initiative aims to foster a sense of community by providing a common reading experience, examining current events, and highlighting diversity of lived experiences through discussions of the book and the major topics it addresses.
The inaugural Common Book selection is Thi Bui's graphic memoir, The Best We Could Do, which details a family's journey from Vietnam to the United States. Join the Common Book kick-off event to get your free copy of the book and learn how you can engage in cross-campus conversations throughout the academic year.
