The Dean of Students in the University serves as a strong advocate for student needs and helps to shape an appreciation for student life at the University by forging tighter links of collaboration with all colleagues who are stakeholders in the quality of the student experience. He provides student affairs leadership for the University and oversees those who lead essential student programs and services.
The Associate Vice President for Student Life serves as a senior student affairs leader for the University, and is responsible for implementing the vision and educational objectives of Campus and Student Life. Oversees and sets the strategic direction for the Center for Leadership and Involvement, Student Centers, the Office of International Affairs, and International House and serves as a liaison to the Center for Identity + Inclusion.

Provides strategic leadership for Campus and Student Life on financial planning and management, and financial operations, as well as broad fiscal oversight.

Serves as the University Registrar and institutional data steward for all student records. Provides strategic leadership in student information systems, enrollment services, classroom planning, graduation, and data analysis.

Oversees ceremonial, spiritual, and performing arts events at Rockefeller Chapel and Bond Chapel; provides leadership for spiritual life on campus; and serves as liaison to campus arts organizations for the Office of Campus and Student Life.

Provides strategic leadership for and coordination of the work of UChicago HELP, including the Dean-on-Call and Sexual Assault Dean-on-Call programs, Student Case Management, High Profile Event Management, and the Bias Education & Support Team; coordinates the University’s Behavioral Intervention Team.

As Executive Director of Housing & Residence Life and Associate Dean of Students in the University, Dr. Hibbler provides the vision for a vibrant and intellectually stimulating residential population of 4,500 residents across UChicago's seven residence halls that are home to 48 Houses of affiliated faculty, staff, and students who live, eat, debate, and play together, not only in rooms but also in shared lounges, dining commons, and intramural sports fields. Along with the college house system, Dr. Hibbler oversees the University Bookstore and serves as a critical link to UChicago offices and departments in addressing student and institutional needs.

Areas of Responsibility
Collaborates with colleagues across the University in the investigation and adjudication of cases of student misconduct that are related to sexual misconduct and discrimination. Also advises the campus community on best practices for prevention and education in the areas of sexual violence and harassment.

Provides leadership for the Center for Identity + Inclusion, which includes the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, LGBTQ Student Life, and Student Support Services. Works in partnership with student-facing areas to advance the University’s commitment to building a more inclusive campus and stronger sense of community.

Provides visionary and strategic leadership for the Athletics & Recreation department, which sponsors 20 varsity sports, nearly 40 sports clubs, an intramural sports program with thousands of student participants annually.
