Urgent Medical and Mental Health Care
- Students seeking urgent medical care can call the Nurse Line at 773.834.WELL, available 24/7. An experienced registered nurse can answer health care questions, explain potential care options, and, if necessary, help you find the nearest place to receive a diagnosis and treatment.
- Students seeking urgent mental health care can call 773.834.WELL during business hours. After business hours, call 773.702.3625 to speak with a therapist-on-call, available 24/7.
Medical Services
UChicago Student Wellness provides students with primary, routine health care, such as physical examinations, as well as acute care for a wide range of complaints. If routine health care on campus is desired, it is recommended that students establish a primary care provider with a UChicago Student Wellness physician or nurse practitioner. Medical services include:

Student Insurance
All students registered in an insurance-required program are enrolled in the University Student Health Insurance Plan (U-SHIP), administered by UnitedHealthcare StudentResources, unless they waive coverage by providing proof of alternate comparable coverage.
