Housing & Residence Life

Students at the Chairman's Cup

Crown House competes against Alper House for the annual Chairman's Cup broom ball title at the Midway Plaisance Ice Rink.

Housing & Residence Life helps to develop and support inclusive communities that engage residents in exceptional living experiences within secure and well-maintained environments that foster a sense of belonging and support the academic initiatives of the University.

UChicago’s seven residence halls are home to 48 Houses—communities of affiliated faculty, staff, and students who live, eat, debate, and play together, not only in rooms but also in shared lounges, dining commons, and intramural sports fields. Traditions unique to each House and hall foster fellowship and pride among residents and forge connections between current students and House alumni.
