The University of Chicago learned that Ilan Naibryf, a rising fourth-year student in the College, is confirmed to be among those who died in the tragic collapse of the Champlain Towers South condominium building in Surfside, Florida, on June 24.

The University of Chicago has learned that the undergraduate student shot on Thursday, July 1, while sitting in an off-campus Chicago Transit Authority train has passed away from his injuries. He was Max Solomon Lewis, a rising third-year student in the College.

Steps to Fulfill COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

As the University announced on May 18, all students participating in in-person classes, research, or activities in the U.S. are required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 starting with the 2021 Autumn Quarter. Richard McDonough, MD, Senior Medical Director for Student Health, wrote to outline the process for complying with this requirement.
